restroom floor repair

I just removed restroom floor down to the wood .What do I use to cover it until I get started replacing it.We still will be using shower but cracks or really open can see ground. Do I use plastic or what? dont want spiders or bugs to come in through them/PLEASE HELP

spiders are attracted to plasitic in wet areas. good chance the whole room could be full of them when you get out of the shower.
Fill the cracks with clear silicon chaulk.
I would avoid using silicon. Silicon may cause future issues with bonding depending on what type of finished flooring you go with. Plastic will be fine for a short time. You could also use duct tape.
