Hey,
I bought old chairs and try to DIY restore them as much as possible. One chair is a bit more difficult case as it has chipped/split wood in few places. Anyone with advice on how to prevent this chipping further or how to seal it and make it not so visible?
Any advice much appreciated

Yes it seems to be so. Is it possible to fill it somehow or seal it so it does not peal of totally and at the same time looks not so visible? Or any advice how to save this in best way ?

I used superglue to seal the veneer edges, but it shows up shiny. Maybe you can use brown wood glue (I think there is such or mix little coloring into it) and wipe off the excess. Then fill with wood filler, wipe and shape with damp towel before it dries then color it. It looks like natural finish darkened over time and there's nothing to match it. Just try to darken the wood used under the veneer. Wood finish is mostly "brown", so get the lightest on the color chart and maybe even dilute it 50% for first try.
