I have an older White Rodgers Digital Comfort Set II programmable heat pump thermostat (1F92-71) which is connected to a Rheem single stage heatpump with electric strip backup heat. The thermostat is giving up the ghost so I'm replacing it with a 1F95-1291. I have a couple of questions on the wiring:
1. The old thermostat has the white wire connected to E1 (emergency) which is jumpered to W2 (second stage heat/Aux). The new thermostat has a single connector labelled W/E (2nd stage heat aux/1st stage heat emergency). I take it they have just combined the E1 and W2 connectors into the W/E connector and I should just connect the white wire to W/E?
2. The old thermostat has the yellow wire connected to Y1 (first stage heat) which is jumpered to W1 (first stage cool). The new thermostat has a single connector labelled Y (1st stage heat/1st stage cool). Again, I take it they have just combined the Y1 and W1 connectors into the Y connector and I should just connect the yellow wire to Y?
3. The old thermostat has the blue wire connected to the B connector (changeover output, heating). I take it I should connect this to the same B terminal (changeover output, heating) in the new thermostat?
Sorry if this is basic, but I want to double check before I mess with a heat pump!
