I have to replace the roof of our mudroom, which is about 6 X 8 ft. and currently has a slightly sloping flat roof covered with tar-paper and is attached to a main outside wall and sealed with flashing. It currently leaks a little bit and therefore it needs to be replaced. I would like a short term fix, i.e. to fix the leaking problem but do not want to spend a fortune since the mudroom itself is pretty old and will need to be replaced before too long. I am not very handy and therefore would like to get some advice on a relatively simple way for me to do this. Should I try to replicate the existing sloping roof or try something else? Sorry if there is an existing post already on this subject.
