I want to replace the trim that runs flush to the windows and my porch ceiling. I would like to replace it with PVC trim. The house was built in 1963, it an all-brick ranch. After some research, I've read the PVC trim can be fastened with Cortex fasteners for better results. The original trim looks to be wood but the previous owner installed some sort of plastic channel on the edges and then soffit panels. If I remove everything, how should I fasten the PVC trim? Drilling the bricks and using anchors? Or is there a wooden framing behind it? Thanks.

Nealtw I think you are right because it's easy to look in front of him, It's just my assumption I felt to something like that.
Yes, there's wood behind the vinyl, but what is the proper way to attach it to the brick surface? Anchors? Seems like it's nailed.

I would think you could drill and use Tapcon concrete screws.
