I am about to replace the end walls of our mobile home they not not bearing any load but wanted to know if anyone could give some advice. Currently the wall is covered with all windows and very little structure or support I would like to remove it and put a new 2x6 framed wall with vapour barrier and insulation with 1/2" plywood sheathing. Home is sitting on a laid brick foundation over a cement slap. Roof was replaced at one time with a peaked roof over the home and small addition. I would like to replace the non load bearing wall and windows with a 2x6 frame that goes from the cement block to where the new roof attaches to the home.

My only concerns are should I worry about the home trying to lean one way or another when removing the windows and wall and the roof extends past the homes actual frame where there is not support at all. Should I do something special there.

Anyway to just frame a 2 X4 wall in front of the one you have now and add jamb extentions?
Not there to see it and no pictures so just a guess.

Here are some pictures of what I have so far. Link will take you to where you can view the pictures. Would prefer to do 2x6 not worried so much about it moving because the extended roof is attached to the porch and porch roof and the porch is also attached to the home and on cement block foundation.

The part that sticks out past the windows on top is just open space no support there.

How you plan on blending that wall in once you put up a new wall?
Residing the whole thing?
All new windows?
I've been in a number of older trailers like that and when the window blows it will knock your hat off. And will frost up enough to start rotting out the walls.

That is why I am replacing it. This is just going to be a plain wall no windows. There are already two windows in this room already without these three. If I want one on this wall later I will add it. But I think one is enough.

I am just going to do plywood siding and a vapour barrier for now and siding this summer. All other walls are good with decent vapour barriers just the two ends of the home need work now. They were very poorly made with no vapour barrier and no rot so far just wet in there.

Eventually want to go all the way around the home fixing the walls replacing siding and windows.

Not much cash so just doing a little at a time. Last year was mostly electrical repair. Now onto walls windows and siding.

When I do stuff like this with a blank slate I stop buy the Habitat for Humanity store and the two places I buy windows from. Almost always I can find something that will work at a huge discount.
If you built that wall in two sections and only remove 1/2 at a time I can not see anything moving.

Good idea if I can grab some windows that I can afford I will add them to the project. I also though about the option of building the wall behind this one and then removing the old one and pushing the new one into place.

Tried finding good enough deals on everything to be able to buy windows but did not work out. Ended up slightly over budge and still have to buy sheet rock. But it will be done right and last. Will add windows later. And we got the siding that the wife approved of.
