I have a floating deck built around a portion of an above ground pool. The footings that were poured were only about 18-24 inches deep and shifted severely.
I have since poured proper footings, installed new posts, and removed the old posts/ fittings (raised the deck about 1-2 inches).
The problem I am having is where the post meets each beam. One main beam is three 2x8 and the other two are two 2x8. The 2x8s on each beam are not flush together and as a result, only one 2x8 on each beam lands on my new posts.
Any suggestions on best way to correct? just shim the gaps?
Thanks
