Hello,
I've got four 4x4's on my back porch and the anchor supports (securing 4x4's to concrete) have completely deteriorated.
Option A would be to jack up my porch and replace all four 4x4's and anchors.
Option B:
My neighbor thinks I can cut a portion of the bottom of the 4x4's off (rotten part). About 4 or 5 inches. Clear out old anchors. Slide in the same size piece (as I cut off) of a new painted PT 4x4 with new anchor plate w/standoff (shown below). Secure anchor to concrete with liquid nail (would prefer another method of securing anchor to concrete).
Use long screws to screw new 4x4 piece to existing 4x4. Screw anchor plates to 4x4's. Make sense?
Basically, a fix without replacing the whole 4x4's.
Was looking at this anchor plate:
Here are additional pictures of the porch and 4x4's.

So is Option B feasible or do I need to replace the 4x4's and anchors?
Many Thanks,
Rod
