Replacement Window

I have a vinly single hung window I want to replace but have a question. I do not have a typical stop moulding so where exactly would I take measurement from? Would I measure from inside my current jamb extensions? If i did that then the measurement would be too small since your not including the RO.

Are the inside returns drywall?

Usually you would measure jamb to jamb if you are setting inside the drywall and the replacement frame is deeper so that happens or measure stud to stud and cut back the drywall to accommodate if the siding isn't the smaller measurement.
There are multiple ways to install, and therefore multiple ways to measure. If you have a pic or two we could probably give a few options on that

I have brick siding. If I measure jamb to jamb and go off those measurements then won't the window be too small since im not going off RO measurement?
Is this a replacement window, or new constrution window your trying to replace?
Picture may help clear it up.
Its a replacement window. Should I leave the jamb extensions in tact and take the measurement from the RO and install from the outside?
if it is a replacement window there might be a sticker somewhere on it that has the size listed.
