Hello all - I am replacing my furnace filter on my Bryant Plus 90i gas furnace, model 355MAV.

The manual goes through some general safety and installation advice, including how to turn off the external gas valve, then electrical switch, and then an internal (backup) gas valve switch.
However, under air filter, it only says to shut off the electrical, and does not mention shutting off either gas valve.

Am I reading this correct - for air filter replacement shut off electrical but do not shut off the gas?
Thanks to all for your time and effort.

if the filter is outside the furnace, you don't have to do anything.

if inside, might as well shut the power switch but technically the access panel switch cuts the power anyhow.

If the filter is inside the furnace. Just turn off the power, this helps to prevent an accidental electrical shock in case you accidentally put your hand on the furnace safety switch.
