I just purchased a home in Northern California. The realtor selling the home made many holes in the stucco for realtor boxes and other hangings. Do I have to get a professional to repair them or can I do it myself? For example, is there such a thing as ready-made stucco that I can put on like plaster and then paint over it?

Speaking of painting, how do you paint over stucco? Is special paint/primer/techniques required?

Go to Home Depot or Lowes....you can get stucco patch...I use it all the time...works great....

As for paint....any exterior paint will work...make sure you primer it first.

They do make 'special' paints for stucco....they are a bit thicker and flexible....not sure you really need it....I painted my house with semi-gloss exterior paint about 5 years ago....no signs of wear....about the only places needing some attention is where there is wood....
