The house is in Florida where Terrazzo at one time was rather popular. It's a rental unit and I am considering removing the carpet and having the original floor refinished.

Does Terrazzo clean up nicely after having been covered with carpet?

Oh, there is another section that has tile on the floors can I remove the tiles and get the Terrazzo polished?

Terrazzo is a pretty hardy floor so the carpet issue should be okay if it was only glued down. You might have residue that would need to be removed. If tackless was nailed into the floor, it would need to be repaired.
What catagory of tile are you talking about? Vinyl or ceramic? The least problematic would be the self stick variety. The others would have residue to deal with.
Best thing to do would be to lift up a corner of the carpet and see what you had.

Ron, thanks for the reply.

The limited amount of tile is ceramic which is in the foyer.

The carpet was installed with tack strips. I wonder of the holes can be filled so that they would not be noticeable?
