Removing window

Hello,

I'm starting a kitchen remodel and I need to cover up this window. I haven't done much construction but I think I understand the process as follows:

-Remove interior/exterior trim
-Remove window screws on the outside. Put some tape on the glass and remove window.
-Frame the window opening
-Add sheeting to exterior
-Add membrane/Tyvek? The house was built in 1982 and I think there is some sort of black sheeting.
-Insulate
-Sheet rock interior

Do you see any hiccups based on the pics? I'ts a flat IB membrane roof above, cedar shakes for the siding. I'm very handy but a lot of these tasks will be new to me, thanks

Do you have more of the siding to patch it?
Yes I have some cedar shingles
You will want to extend what ever flashing that is there a little higher up the wall. A flexible one that can be stuck to the old.

Is there another source of natural light in that room?

Won't I remove all the flashing associated with the window, install wood sheeting and cover that with a house wrap? Where will the flashing go?

The roof flashing usually runs up the wall about 6" behind the siding.
You will be disturbing what is there so you will need to replace or extend it. It will want to stuck to what you have so water can't back up under it.

There are a bunch of windows on the other side facing the water. The one I want to remove looks at a busy street, albeit a busy one, of which may cut down on the noise by covering it. I also took out a dividing wall where the fridge used to be. Now I need to put the fridge about where the window I want to cover is.
