Hello, I'm not really sure where to even begin with this problem. I bought my home in 2002, the previous owner was running some sort of online real estate business that required multiple lines to be run through the house, which of course they left behind. As well as old ADT security system wiring. I opened my nid for the first time yesterday and I almost cried. I had hoped to just remove the old wiring but this is beyond me. I have no idea where to start.. my service consists of a dryloop dsl line, which I can't even identify in the mess. any guidance is appreciated. I have tried to attach a picture

I just want it all gone. I don't want it interfering with the quality of my Internet, which tbh isn't that bad. But I really want to remove the eyesore security system unit from my wall, which advises me to disconnect at Telco jack to avoid electrical shock. I'm pretty hands-on, but I worry about electrical stuff .

Do you currently have an operating land line? If not just unplug all those jacks and start tearing out the wires.
If you do then unplug the jacks one at a time until you lose dial tone. Then plug that one back in. Remove all the wires that are now unplugged.
The second picture is a telephone carbon block. Remove all the wires from one of the outside terminals and separate them. If your land line goes dead then you need to reconnect and leave it there. If no land line then just pull it all out.

So... I found another box tucked away in my ceiling not sure what to do about that. .and my internet connection is still going strong despite the removal of the jack at the demarcation point.
