I have a medicine cabinet that has a metal frame, originally painted with some kind of industrial type paint, i.e. whatever came on it from the factory, but it's not latex (enamel? acrylic?). It's been painted over with latex. Is there an easy way to get the latex paint off, in preparation for spray bombing with another color?

Easy way? no. Not unless its already peeling off. Whats wrong with just painting over it? Post a pic, maybe.

Denatured alcohol will dissolve/soften dried latex paint so you might could remove it that way but I agree it makes more sense to sand and then repaint.

Without good reason to do so, I would not remove the latex either - a good scuff sand and paint.

Wanna remove because of brush strokes. Does that change advice?

I'd try sanding it down with 80 grit and maybe reprime and sand the primer with 120

If you want the latex off, then just use goof off. (Yes, it is a real thing)

Goof off is for here and there spots, not a stripper...
