About 10 years ago when my house was built the going trend were archways in the interior of new homes. I liked them at the time but now I hate them. Is it hard to remove them and just make them straight? I'm guessing that above the archway there is framing but I'm not 100% sure. Any advice would be much appreciated.

The archway is probably framed (studs and plywood).
Knock the archway down, clean and finish the supporting posts and beam. Be creative to make what you have look its best.

Do you know if it is a bearing wall? If it is the studs on each side will be important and there will be a header up there but the arch itself can be removed.

I have a total of 4 arch's and I'm thinking that there is a header over each one of them. Would using a stud finder be able to tell me for sure if the header is there above the arch? If I knew how to post pics I would to get a better idea of what I'm talking about.

It's possible that a stud finder could determine what's up there but it's also quite possible it couldn't, it all depends on how it was framed.
