I am trying to remove outdoor carpet and its adhesive from a concrete patio. I have tried scraping, adhesive remover, boiling water, pressure washing, and crying tears. Nothing is working. Until I remove this hideous stuff, I can't do anything with this outdoor space. Does anyone know how or who can remove this stuff or how to cover it, decking board?, patio pavers? I am trying to do this on a very small budget which is why I would like to remove the adhesive and just paint the concrete by myself. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

The only way I have ever removed it is scraping.

you'll need a 4" blade scraper from home depot etc. its the kind that fits actual 4" blades in the end of it and with those you can scrape the adhesive much easier. Don't forget at least a cheap pair of knee pads & gloves (saves those soft hands :)

A high capacity pressure washer with appropiate tip would take it off I would think, not a homeowner unit - a large rental unit. But maybe not.

I once rented a power scraper one time to remove tile adhesive from interior concrete. It did not eliminate the manual work - but did 80% of the job.

4" grinder with an abrasive disk or pad works; depends how big an area though. Not for an entire floor but areas where it is thick and you've tried the scrape method.

It is tough to remove. I have always pointed this out to customers before installing turf. I didn't want them to be surprised down the road, if they decided the wanted to change the area later. .
