a tree fell over in a friends yards. we are cutting up the tree for removal
(actually we are using the cut tree as firewood)
anyway, we arent sure how to move the root or how to dispose of it.

other then hire a tree service can anyone suggest what to do with them?

Be careful when cutting. The stump may want to stand back up or roll when you get the weight off of it.
If you can burn, drill some holes and fill them with kerosene. Keep soaking every week for about a month, then burn.

That stump is not very large----I think you could knock off most of the dirt and cut it up

Burning out a stump can irritate the neighbors---and should be the last resort

Stumps and roots take for ever to dry and then don't burn well if that was even an option. Being in the yard I would think a garden hose and water is available so knock off what dirt you can and wash the areas to be cut to preserve the chain. Cut it into manageable pieces the trash service will take and be done with it.

Several years ago my brother thought he'd burn a stump- fire smoldered down through the roots and soil and eventually resurfaced further away causing a fair amount of property damage.
Since then- I've never considered burning a stump.....
