If I jack the car up, slide some stands under the log and let the car back down maybe I could get a chain saw in there.

how much can you cut without the car underneath?
In other words get rid of everything that doesn't straddle the car.
Then maybe a case of beer and 4-5 pals could lift it?

there are a few charts floating on the Internet that would give you a ball park weight of the thing based on diameter or circumference and length.
I'd find one of those charts and figure out about how much it would weight once you shortened it as much as you can without trashing your chain saw on the car. Then figure out if there is enough beer and pals to actuall move it.

Homeowners insurance is taking a while. It's been like this for months already. It's four hours from my house and I don't know any dudes up here. The beer is a good idea though. I'm gonna check out that chart too. The county already cut all the excess off.

The car hauler that is going to haul that wreck will have a winch on it. Thats were the case of beer comes in.

There are specialized logging trucks that can pickup that log and haul it away for you.

Get some high school football team to pick it off of the wreck, A jen truck from a junk yard.

Sell it as one complete unit. List it as wood-grain interior.

Any access to an engine lift? Call a tow truck and see if they can help. Know anybody with a tractor?

If you're in Calif., there are strong Mexican guys who will take it off & pay you for the truck. Put signs up in English & Spanish. Maybe an ad. Just cover yourself in case of injury.

For a one man operation, cut the stobs off so the log can be rolled to the rear. Rap a chain so it works as a reverse windlass and roll it off the back by pulling with with a puckumup truck that's in better condition than the subject truck.

That's about 250-300 lbs of wood assuming you cut it to about 10 ft long, and no really good way for a bunch of guys to get hands on it. I could see a bunch of guys trying that and somebody tripping and getting caught under it.

I'd get the wrecker up there and just ask if they can pull it off with the winch for a small consideration of cash and/or beer. That would probably make short work of getting it off the truck and probably would be the safest option.

Call a local tree trimmer. They will cut the tree up and also will be able to get the section on the vehicle removed. Then the local body shop or junk yard will come and take the vehicle.

No need to kill your back, when insurance will pay for the bill to remove the tree off of the vehicle and for the vehicle to be removed.

The gas tank actually sits between the frame that the bed is attached. The truck is beyond saving. It is smashed in the same way that a Auto Yard smashes vehicles to place them on a flatbed to be shipped to a company that shreds the vehicle into small bits.

That seems way too light to me. But it really depends on what that diameter is.
