A propane hot water was removed from our basement. The mechanic simply shut off the gas valve above the water heater, disconnected the line, and screwed in a plug into the outlet of the valve.
But the valve sticks down, is unsightly, and in the way. We would like to remove the valve from the tee in the main line and install the plug in the tee.
How does one do this in a safe manner? The main line, tee, and valve are pipe. What thread sealant should be used.
Any ideas?
