I am remodeling my bathroom and installing a new tub. The tub is not equal on both ends next to the walls. I am installing the cement board to install the tile on, however, when I measure the cement board on either side of the tub, it is not equal on both sides next to the wall surface. What can I do to install the cement board to make the width of the board with the tile equal on either side?m The back and one side are up against the 2 x 4's - the other side is 1/2" to 3/4" away from the 2 x 4's. How do I make it even?

A picture will help---a lot-----

The tile is frequently wider at one end-of a tub surround---I've never seen that as a problem--

You have to work with what was built.---Mike---
