Recessed medicine cabinets HELP!!

Hi!

So we are replacing our old and ugly recessed medicine cabinet but there are none to fit the size we need. My husband bought a new cabinet that looks great but the recessed part of the cabinet is smaller than the old one. How to we fill in the area around the cabinet if we want to keep this one? I would love to fill it in and get a mirror but he wants the space the cabinet provides.

THANKS:)

You will need to post a picture if you can.--How big of a gap do you have?

Fill it with wood and sheetrock the wall.
Size of the wood depends on the gap, if you want it centered over a sink, etc..
What's the difference between the width of the cabinet and the width of the opening?
