Hi guys, long time lurker, first time poster.
The wife and I are remodeling our bedroom. Nothing to extravagant, just fresh paint, crown, probably a chair rail, and a couple recessed lights. What I'd like to do is wire in two dimmers. The first for 4 recessed lights for general lighting in the room and the second for either two or three smaller eyeball lights in the closet. Currently the only lighting in the room is a single switched outlet in corner and that's not adequate no matter what size bulb I throw in the lamp.
So my question is how do I convert the switched outlet over to the recessed lights? The circuit in question has 4 outlets on it, that last one being the switched outlet, with the switch being at the very end of the circuit. (The circuit is 15 amps btw) Over the winter the only thing in those outlets are two phone chargers, but over the summer we run an ac unit in the bedroom so that may pose a problem (I haven't tried to calculate the load since I haven't picked out the lights yet). I'd like to try and avoid running a dedicated line for lighting, but if that's what I gotta do I guess I'll have to go that route. Also, are there any code issues here I have to be aware of? Any advice, opinions, ideas?
Thanks guys
