My basement walls are concrete and have been painted previously. They are chipping and I've scraped and sanded them. We have had no moisture problems in the 10+ years we've lived here. Do I need to prime? And can anyone recommend a paint to use? I keep coming across Sher-crete, but it is expensive and is not offered at Menards (I'd like to purchase there to get the 11% discount being offered.) Would love some advice on what products to purchase to give it a fresh coat.

Thanks for any help you can offer!

how often do you want to paint this conc ? 11% discount ain't worth much if you use incorrect mtls & need to paint annually impo

scraping & sanding MAY result in a fairly good surface over which to paint new but remember the paint you're covering is old,,, new coating's only as good as surface to which its applied

latex odor dissipates far faster than oil-based
