I can vent my range hood from the back or top. Usually, the back vent is for exterior side wall applications. I was wondering if the maximum vent pipe applies to venting from the back of the unit. I want to go out of the back and up the wall then out of the roof.

as per my instructions for my microwave my maximum distance is 140 ft. top or rear.
Elbows and turns account for like 5 feet or more .
