my rainsoft water softener had a broken trigaurd it took me a few months to replace the part. now that i have im not sure if my system is working right. the trigaurd is completely full and the brine tank is about half full of salt but it doesnt appear to be wet or have water in it. when i replaced the triguard i let the system backwash and regenerate. i cant tell a differance in the water quality yet.( i replaced the trigaurd just yesterday)

Trigaurd for a Rainsoft? not sure what or where that is with in the system.
Was there any salt or pot perm used in the regeneration?

tri guard

the tri guard is a little clear canister its like an air check. didnt use anything in the regeneration im not sure if the systme used any salt from the brine tank

Oh, that system is part Autotrol 155 valve...
Check the lines to and from that can to make sure that they are clear, one of them has a little and I mean little flow control on it so be careful.

Part of the time when the older rainsoft valves start having problems like this it is time to replace the system.

Not saying that it can not be fixed, it might be as simple as the line to or from the clean tank not letting water through.

Or it might be a little more than that.

ok tomorrow i will be able to work on it. ill let u know if the lines are clear or not

If it can be done a good check would be to undo the lines to the clear bowl while in the brine draw and see if there is sucking going on, and in the brine refill if water is flowing out.
Could get a bit wet depending on how much water comes out.
