hey guys I'm redoing a a small bar top in my basement, I painted it and put. thick coat if epoxy resin on it (famowood glazecoat) and it came out nice except for 1 part. I had an emergency and had to leave the house for a few hours. when I came home a piece of the tape barrier I made some how tilted forward into the epoxy I was able to pull it out before it fully cured but it made a huge lip and sloppy finish. I wet sanded it down u till it was about level and poured the last little bit of resin I had left over, over it. heres my problem.. it seems as tho it won't level itself out and is leaving a small lip for the second coat.. should I go buy more and put a thin coat over the entire top to smooth it out?

I would think a solvent based polyurethane would adhere to a sanded surface, but you would have to sand the entire surface, at least a 600 grit sand paper, wet sand would be preferred...use courser paper to get the bad spots smooth..

I'm pretty sure with the Fammowood you can dull the finish to a satin sheen by polishing with steel wool. If your ok with a duller finish, you might be able to work the defect out mostly by polishing the whole surface.

If you really want to make it go away, probably need another coat. Trying to touch up something like that is almost impossible.
