I am in the process of remodeling a bath and want to use LVT loose lay for the flooring. The existing floor is 2 layers of 1/2" plywood with glued down sheet vinyl. The vinyl is in good shape and I plan on laying the LVT over it(the vinyl is flat with no embossed pattern and is in good condition).
My questions?
1. Where the end of the LVT will butt the tub, I don't want to use a molding. I want to butt the LVT tight to the tub and secure that end with a strip of adhesive caulk. I will leave the expansion gap on the other end. This run is only about 5 feet long. Is this acceptable or is there a better way.
2. A. Can I install the floor and set the vanity on top? B. Or set the vanity and trim the LVT around it? If I use plan B I will have to use a shoe mold around the vanity which is not objectionable.
