Question on base cabinet installation....

1826 Views 4 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  skipjack
I've got my wall cabs in.. finally.. and I'm starting to lay out my base cabinets.

I've got one 12" cabinet that is sort free standing on the side of the stove. So.. it basically only has one stud to attach into.. My concern is it's not going to be anchored well enough with just two vertical screws.

What is the normal procedure to install something like this? Should I use some sort of drywall anchors in addition to the stud screws?

Screws angled into the bottom edge where the baseboard will cover them up.
Into the sill plate? Hmmm... I didn't think of that.. thanks!
Screw a 2x4 into the floor on the inside of the side next to stove. Screw through the side of the cabinet into the 2x4.

I see what you mean... and that's a good idea. The cabinet is sitting on top of tile.. I'd have to anchor the 2x4.
