Hey guys, I recently peeled wallpaper off my walls in my very own first house.
I just want to make sure that I did not screw up. I sanded the heck out of the walls to get most of the wallpaper glue off and did lots of spackling and sanding to basically make all the walls smooth.

Before applying the primer I did not wash the walls with water because I did not want to get the wallpaper residue moving and wet again.
I used an airgun and a brush to get all the dust off the walls.
Will that cause a problem?

Thanks.

Reallly needed to get it off the wall if you want the primer to stick.
Sanding will just grind it into the paper not remove all of it.

You MIGHT be ok. As long as you really got most of the adhesive off with the sander, you should be good to go. Prime with Guardz to seal up any minuscule remnants of the adhesive and the areas you patched. Guardz will really give you a sound surface to work with although if you have any large areas of adhesive you missed, those will "flash" through your finish coats.

You should have got the paste wet and moving again.....that way you could scrape/wash it off.But since you have already primed it it's too late.Like Gym said, you MIGHT be ok, with a coat of Gaurdz.

I painted it with SW drywall primer, would painting a layer of gardz primer or whatever it is called help?

About 80% of the walls are covered in joint compound and the other 20% are smooth because there is no glue there for the most part.

The enemy of latex paints applied directly over wallpaper paste is starch. The problem may not appear for several months and will appear as tiny peeling called 'potato chipping.' Gardz has a resistance to starch when applied directly over it but, in my opinion, right now it will be no better than what is undernearh.
