I've cut my 4" cast soil pipe in the ground that I plan on tying into for a new toilet. I purchased 4" PVC fittings and a boot. I took a small piece of the 4" PVC and put it up against the cast with the boot in place. The PVC ID is slightly larger than the cast leaving a small lip. Is this going to cause a stoppage in the pipe? Would I be better off using 3" pipe to the cast?

Although a toilet can be piped on 3", your 4" transition will be fine. Just be sure to align the bottom of the pipes
