I want to run a mini split lineset in the crawl space. I dont want rodents to knaw on it, and I want sweat to be able to drain. I have already spent money on 5 foot sections of insulation, and I am afraid they might leak at the joints.
What is the best solution?

thanks

Tape the insulation joint where one piece butts up to the next. Both lines need to be insulated on a mini-split. I don't think mice should be a problem but you could run the insulated copper through 2" pvc and seal the ends.

Thanks, friends. I live in the country with lots of field mice that get in under the house. I cant let the cat in because then skunks, etc would get in too. I guess i will just install the two taped, insulated lines plus the mini split electrical cable unprotected under the house and check it periodically.

What kind of tape should I use for sealing the joints?

Thanks, Ron

The Mitsubishi instructions say to put a "felt tape" layer under the vinyl tape outer layer. Does anybody know what kind of tape that is? I can think of friction tape, but is that felt?
