So I bought a house last summer it's about 19 yrs old, I have a covered concrete porch, the house siding is right down to concrete. It is still the original siding and isn't in bad shape. I live in Colorado so termites are not an issue just moisture and rotting. Should I worry about it an if so what are my options? I don't see a way of putting flashing on without damaging the siding (it's about 12" wide wood siding).

If it hasn't rotted now, I probably won't. You could bend up and tuck a small piece of L-shaped flashing up there as well. If it is a covered porch, it should be okay. In Colorado, piled up snow will probably be the bigger issue honestly.

I agree the snow is the biggest issue. One thing on my to do list is to patch and resurface the porch so I want to make sure the siding will be good first.

Only place your not going to find termites is in the North and South Poles.

It actually looks worse than I described, the porch concrete looks like it was pored against the siding.

Not much you do is going to help there with the siding being behind the poured steps. It was done wrong from the outset there.

Hopefully they are pitched in the right direction is all and that will keep the water moving away from the walls.

 

[Fix'n it]

take those bottom pieces off and see what is back there. may be a concrete slab or foundation. and they just ran the siding all the way down for looks.

or, just drill a few holes and see what the drill bit hits.
