I have a condo and the ducts appear to be too small and on hot days the place won't cool fast enough.

Will a more powerful AC unit do? Or is my best bet to redo all the duct work?

I can't have an condenser, so this needs to be a water to air unit.

TIA

You might look into PTAC units like at motels

If the ducts are too small.
Have them corrected first.

Make sure the coil is clean.

Describe what you mean by not cooling off fast enough. On a hot day it is normal for the A/C to work hard. A/C systems are not designed to cool of a home fast like a car. It may take 24 hrs to cool a home down and get the humidity under controll.

Ah, it doesn't take that long. It would be nice if it cooled faster though.

Long cooling cycles are better than short. The longer the cycle (within reason of corse) the better the humidity controll. If it cools to fast it could be cold but clamy in the home.
