Hi,
I need to replace the cartridge to fix a leak. While trying to unscrew the handle, it looks like I have damaged the thread. It started coming out a bit and now it just keeps turning in the same place.

I have removed the handle in the past, so I know that it comes off by unscrewing it.

Would appreciate any thoughts or suggestions on how to fix this issue.

Here's the model.....https://www.lowes.com/pd/Pfister-Selia-Brushed-Nickel-1-Handle-Bathtub-and-Shower-Faucet-with-Valve/50221145

To me, it is obvious it won't come off until the handle (which is not moving) is removed. Is there a set screw under the handle?

The handle and the cover (the cone shaped piece) are a single unit. I have removed it in the past and it unscrews out as a single unit. Will try @Gcraay suggestion of pulling it as I unscrew....
