I just installed a light timer - i had to put a jump on it to get a white wire, then everything worked .

Problem is the switch in the the room next it stopped working......

I am on the same page as Joed need more details and what colour the conductor it was on the oringal switch ( not the timer at the moment ) and is there a red conductor in there ?
