I would normally prime with Loxon and top coat with a high quality acrylic like SW Cashmere. I have a very small section, about 8 sq ft, of bare concrete wall between two finished walls in my basement (in a corner with an outside corner). I don’t want to bother trimming it out...painting is good enough for what I am doing. I do not have any left over Loxon primer and do not want to buy a gallon for such a small area. Should I use a non-masonry primer or just apply the top coat directly? Thanks.

As long as there are no moisture issues, should be fine.

While not ideal, thinning your finish paint about 10% makes an ok primer for concrete. Apply the 2nd coat full strength.

Thx. I had some Ben Moore Fresh Start 046 left over. Label says ok for cured concrete. Wire brushed, vacuumed and primed. A couple top coats and it should last much longer than I will.
