I posted in another thread about a brick wall I an concerned with.

One of the issues are the water stains on the wall.

I was told the stains are the result of the lawn on the other which runs up against the wall. I had a contractor out yesterday and today he sent me:

In examining the wall I have determined that the deterioration is do to moisture (Specifically sprinklers, drip systems, etc.) in the neighboring yards. This deterioration will continue as long as they have grass and sprinkler next to the wall.

it was suggested to me the best way is to create a barrier between the lawn and the wall.

Are there any other way of correcting this?
