we just had new pressure treated wood put up and i was wondering how long it had to sit before it could be painted?

This totally depends on your location and the wood's location and how 'wet' it is. I've left some more than a year before it was 'dry' enough to trust painting.

i have always waited a year before I painted and never experienced any problems. :thumbsup:

I've been advised by my painter friends -
6 months minimum.
They do have paint/stain available, that supposedly can be applied
right away.
Not sure if I would do it, though.

Never been a fan of PAINTING PT wood, but, stain on the other hand........

i live in virgina beach va i dont like to paint wood either but its a part of a fance that was replaced and the rest of it is painted so i have to paint it i want to thank eveyone for your replys :thumbup:
