How may turns should it typically take to see a change in pressure when adjusting a residential pressure regulator?

I turned mine 1.5 turns in either direction (while repeatedly opening and closing a spigot), but have not seen the slightest change in pressure. I'm wondering if it requires many full turns to see a change.

I just installed a PRV last weekend. It takes several turns to change anything. Are you using a pressure gauge to set it with? You also must bleed the line each time you want to take a reading. Meaning opening a valve or spigot between changes.

Also mine had a direction of flow on it. An arrow pointing in the correct direction. I'm not sure if that would be an issue, but I made sure the one I installed was in the correct direction.

Yes, I am using a pressure gauge to set it, and I bleed the system through a spigot.
I will try several turns...

Usually PRVs come pre-set at 55-60 psi.
Why are you trying to change that?
