old tile out- put up "green" drywall (now purple)- Where the old tile ended (and old wall) has some larger gaps where it meets new drywall- I am wondering of the 60" high surround will cover- If not- How do I fix?? You can either trim it out with some PVC casing or flat stock or cut the drywall back to a straight line and patch it.

Any tub surround I have installed was attached directly to the studs---no drywall behind it.

What do the directions say?

directions for this say glue to drywall- I have installed direct to stud ones - they are more expensive- this kit is direct glue to drywall

Is spray foam an option? I've seen some used in researching to fill the void and then spackle the rest....
