We are planning a small DIY stucco job, and thought the prebacked metal lath over Tyvek Stucco wrap was the best plan. Now see what appears to be a paper and metal done separately. Wondered if the price savings was worth the trade out of convenience. Or if there was any other advantage to doing it this way. Also, the laborer was power nailing or most likely stapling rapid fire looked to be all over the place. I was under the impression the metal had to be pulled at the corners to secure flatly. Was this guy just really good, or just really fast?

And how would I know in case I opt out to hire him???
