I bought some mdf crown molding. It comes pre primed. It has alot of detail to it so I would like to spray it with my hvlp before I install it and then do any touch up that are needed. I will be painting it with a latex off white paint. Should I re prime these with a quality primer or is the primer they come with good enough? Thanks.

There shouldn't be any reason to re-prime. If there where going to be any durability issues it would be with the mdf itself. I don't like mdf for high wear areas, but for crown molding it really is a good economical and eco-friendly option.

Back to your original question. I've never had a problem with the primer. So paint on and I'm sure it will turn out great.

Happy trimming
