Looking at a prebuilt 12 x 20 shed. A shape roof. Cant seem to make up my mind so asking for opinions.

#1 For the floor this has 2x6 with 12"OC the 3/4 T&G
Walls 8 ft 16" OC, Roof 24" OC, 3/8" Lp smartside siding

#2 This one is 1500.00 more. But has 16 OC for roof. And the thicker insulated
smartside siding.
But floor is only 2x4's with 8" OC
And only 7 ft walls

Leaning toward #1 for the 8 ft walls and cheaper price.

Thanks

I have a pre built one from when I was way too busy to build my own.

It cost WAY more than the one I built, and doesn't have 8 foot walls.

If you have the time and tools, build one yourself.

I know. I never would have dreamed I would not build one myself. But recent major medical problems and need something quick.

Ayuh,..... When it comes to barns, garages, or sheds 1 rule always applies,......

No matter how big ya build it,............... it'll be too small,......

I'm doin' a couple of quicky sheds now,......
One is 8'x 12'x 6',.....
The other is 8'x 16'x 8',......
Both will get gambrel roofs(more cf of storage, cheap), 'n steel siding when they get to Maine,......

Right now, they're a 8'x 12' aluminum, 'n a 8'x 16' fiberglass truck body's bolted to a trailer frame, for movin' my junk to Maine,.....

When I get there, I'll jack 'em up off the trailer, bolt skids under 'em, slide 'em into place, 'n slap on the steel sidin', 'n roofin',.....
Both under code, so we can put 'em where ever we want,....

As Bondo said, big is never big enough. I build my shop 24 x 24, thinking gee this is a monster......until I filled it with tools. It's adequate, but cozy, and should have been 36 x 36. I would opt for the taller ceilings. It gives you the option of overhead storage.
