Power washing aluminum siding

I have an aluminum sided 2 story house. The north side has moss or some kind of green stuff grown in bloches. I plan on power washing it off as soon as the weather warms up. My question, is it ok to power wash siding and is there a right or wrong way. Also is there something I can apply so it doesn't come back.

Use an algaecide in the power washer.
Due to the lack of Sun on those exposures, this will be a regular task.

As an alternative to powerwashing, they sell hose end sprayers with an algeacide in the container. They remove the residue, but they might not reach as high as you need without a ladder.

Hi Ron...Not sure if this would be powerful enough to remove the moss. But I think your right that this will be a regular task.

Washing the side of the house by hand would be dangerous and very time consuming.
Is it moss or algae? The chemical kills the algae, it doesn't pummel it off the wall.
