I noticed over the last couple of days that the power vent on my gas water heater is running all the time; even when the water heater itself isn't on. Is there a switch or relay that triggers the fan that has maybe gone out? Otherwise the water heater itself has been working fine.

Yes . depending on manufactuere, probably safety switch relay stuck. Maybe an obstruction in hose. You can try tapping on it and make sure no obstructions.

Whats the model number of water heater and power vent.

It's a Fasco power vent P/N 0012400500 type U21B
And a State Select water heater model looks like PR650NOVT

I am not familiar with that brand of water heater. I'm sure someone on this forum is familiar with it. Try going online and giving them a call and ask them directly.

Check operators manual under troubleshooting; I did a google search and think I found operators manual in case you no longer have it.
