Hi! I want to install a 2-ton ductless mini split in my game room. I don't have an easy way to run a new 220V circuit to the location. There is a service disconnect for a 3-ton central AC unit close by. The service panel for the house is on the opposite side of the house. The house is a single story house on a slab. There is no attic access from one side of the house to the other. I'm thinking one option maybe to run conduit around the roof line of the house. The other option I wanted to explore is to see if it would be possible to run second line off the service for the existing 3-ton AC unit. Maybe run the service line into a sub-panel and come off of that with two service disconnects?

The sub panel is a possibility, if the existing wire is sufficient to meet the demands of both units.
What is the overcurrent protection rating for both units?
If not, which is what will likely be the case, you’ll have to run a separate service.

Do you expect to use the mini-split and the A/C at the same time?
Doesn’t much matter. If the OP went this route the conductors would have to be sufficient to support both units, and the breaker would have to be changed to do the same. I’d doubt this is the case.
If it were individual protection would be handled at the point of use disconnect/overcurrent protector.
