Hello,
My project is to build a post frame area that will be 28x42. I am having trusses 4/12 pitch every 24inches on center but made to handle the 12 foot span on carport, breezeway, and covered patio. The first 28x18 that will be attached to house rear of house is for the breezeway and covered patio area. The additional 28x24 area is for carports. I was thinking this carport area could be made into garage and or shop at later time. Does post frame make since in doing this project? Also, after this area is built and covered can I come back and pour slab on any breezeway, carport areas? Looking for advice, comments, tips. Am I just going about this all backwards?

Looking forward and planning back to the work you are doing now is just good planning.

Now I will try to figure out what the hell you are talking about.:biggrin2:
When you say span, do you mean that is the 12' length of the trusses are are they 28 ft long.

1. Do you mean posts and beams instead of stud walls? Makes no difference to the roof.
2. If you set your posts on concrete footings at the right elevation, you can later pour a slab up to the height of the footings (don't bury the posts in concrete).
