Hi all

I am installing a cellular PVC craftsman style column on a stone pillar on my porch and looking for some pointers. I know that some of these wrap around a 4 X 4 but I was told by the supplier that this one does not.

Above it is a metal soffit and below a concrete stone cap. Would I just cut some pressure treated wood to the size of the openings on the top and bottom, affix them to the concrete and soffit and then wrap the column around that?

Thanks

PVC sheathing is NOT load bearing in that config - narrow, hollow and tall.
However if you're application is 100% purely decorative then the only question I can see is fitting it in. From the picture it _appears_ that there is an internal ledge to capture a 4x4 post but you'd have to measure, obviously. Also be aware that nominal sizes (4x4) aren't true and can vary by as much as 1/8".
