My family purchased a modular home in 1995, and was looking to remove the popcorn ceiling. I'm just wondering if I should get the ceiling tested for asbestos first or are homes built after 1990 ok?

Asbestos was banned from residential texture in the late 70s although existing stock was allowed to be used up. Anything after the early 80s is presumed to be asbestos free. I wouldn't worry any.

Has the texture been painted? Painted popcorn is harder to remove but it can still be done.

No it hasn't been painted thankfully. So I should be go to go.
